An Update!

Well, hello there, Blogger!
Long time no blog, it seems! Which leads me to this update: most everything I draw now can be found on my Tumblr account, rather than here.
I've found Tumblr to be an easier platform to update and I've had a great experience connecting with other Tumblr-users!
So, without further ado, please feel free to direct your attention to this site in the future:

Thank you very much!

Acorn Progress

Some more film work! I was having a very rough time thumbnailing my story this past week; I hit a road block every time I tried to tackle the ending. I was embarrassed to reveal my failure to my film workshop class last night, but I brought in my roughs anyway and, lo and behold, we were all able to talk through it together! The power of collaboration!
Here's hoping things keep looking up!

3rd Year!

Back at CalArts after a fantastic, exhausting summer! But there's no time to rest yet; the pressure's already on for our films this year. I think I've got something... but only time (and sweat and tears) will tell!

Summer Doodles (The first of many!)

Summer break! It feels good to have (almost) no obligations after such a whirlwind of a second semester. Time to just avoid all social interaction and draw for fun!!

That last drawing is me! But I promise my head isn't that big in real life (probably).

Thank You!

This week has been one of the most amazing ones of my life. I never expected such an overwhelming response to my silly student film, and I wanted to just thank all of you for supporting me! Thank you so much!

2nd YEAR FILM!

Omelette from Madeline Sharafian on Vimeo.

I'm so happy that it's finally done!
It feels really great to make a more personal film this year, now that I know the ropes of filmmaking a bit better. I wanted to make something that focuses on how meaningful it is to make food for someone you love. My family's lives practically revolve around cooking for each other, so it's a theme that I'm deeply attached to. I hope you enjoy it!
