The Baker Girl

This is a character I've been kicking aboot in my head. She's a baker and is (obviously) a badass, sassy lady. I like to imagine her having a Kristen Chenoweth-style squeaky voice!
I'm still getting the hang of computer art, so I get the feeling everything I draw will be a bit stiff for a while.
Also, Blogger keeps altering my colors when I upload! Why, Blogger? Why?? The colors are actually much warmer.

Fairytale Project

(This is the same girl as above, just older. Hopefully you can tell?)

Eugh... for some reason the colors on all of these suddenly got all greyish and icky once I uploaded them to blogger. I dislike this. Anyway, These pictures (except the Day of Silence one) are all part of a fairytale project I'm working on with my sister. I'm mostly just experimenting and noodling about but it's very fun! Anyhow, homework calls.

So long, sketchbook!

I finished my sketchbook today! It's always a little sad to move on, but I have a new one right next to me and there's nothing more exciting than a fresh start.

I got one of those clicky pens with 4 colors of ink. It's a little embarrassing how excited I am about this...

Photoshop Practice

It's not a very inspired drawing and it's a bit small, but I get the feeling I have a lot of catching up to do as far as computer art is concerned, so any type of practice is helpful!

Happy Sunday!

Wheeee! College!

Hi! I'm Maddie. I decided to start up this art blog after settling on CalArts (!!!) as my college for next year! College... it's hard to believe.

I think a little (and I mean "little") about me drivel is in order! As far as art goes, you will mostly see sketchbook pages from me, because I have atrocious computer-art skills! I'm hoping that's an area that I'll work on over the summer and at college. I also have a scanner that has a vendetta against my computer, so most pictures will be photographed instead of scanned. I think I'll leave it at that for now. Here are some "getting-to-know-you" sketches!
